I personally would recommend Tennessee between the two simply because the economy is stronger, The cities are more progressive (Alabama is in the deep south; Tennessee is not). I dont know how small of a city your lookin for but Chatanooga, TN is the 4th largest city and has alot of natural beauty along with Lookout Mountain.

Arkansas and Louisiana are my least favorite
I am Interested in hearing the reasons why you choose these three as the ones you like most?

As am I, in alot of standards they aren't even considered to be in the "southern" even though they are in the region. Due to large amounts of immigration, mostly seniors; the bad traffic, crazy drivers, no southern charm, little southern culture (if any).... I dont know how Florida was included in this poll either

Can't say. Because I've only been in FL, NC, SC, and GA. But, I'd assume eventually Texas would be, Texas seems to fit my style.

My favorite southern state is Louisiana.

Reason 1. I live there so I am familiar with it. I know what it is really like to live here. A rich culture, none of the snobbery, indeed fun.

Reason 2. There are plenty of wonderful people here. Maybe not your type, but certainly mine.

There will always be a reason for people to live where they do. Sorry some folks are living where they don't like it; hope they can return to where they do.
