For me, its a tie between Virginia and Georgia.

Arkansas and Louisiana are my least favorite

I haven't visited most of them.

I picked SC because I love their land (2/3rds of the state is forested), their scenic beaches with good surf, their weather including their thick humid air, the slower pace of life and the slow, often thick accents of the locals.

NC is similar, but more developed, slightly less forested and slightly cooler than SC weather, more snow.
The beaches might be more pristine/natural in NC though, especially the Outer Banks. Never been.

I recently visited Charleston and the culture and the attitudes reminded me so much of Richmond. It was just like Richmond in many ways, except for the palm trees.

I've visited both Charleston and Richmond. I've even visited the Virginia state capitol building. It was the first place I ever saw southern magnolia trees and they were huge.

Both seemed to be great cities, however I've seen stats showing Richmond averages 11" of snow annually and that scares me.

Georgia got my vote. Savannah is so incredibly beautiful.

Runner up was Texas. I LOVE Austin, but none of the rest of the state...so GA wins out!

I like them all, specifically:

Golfing in Myrtle Beach, SC
Fishing in southern GA
The beaches in NC.
The Texas attitude.
The food in LA.
Touristy stuff in FL (fishing ain't bad either).
and, the people in all of them.

Do you have any posts not bashing Florida? Obviously, you're entitled to your opinion and expressed it quite often, but come on...do you ever stop?
