the god of 2nd chance. the "oh well" god.
discipline with its element of punishment and reward has been replaced with an blank check
we got rid of shame too.
that explains why so many act like well you know.

Of course there are hundreds of different reasons for this, and I'm going to get absolutely torn to shreds for saying this, but it would have nothing to do with any certain religious groups' prohibition of birth control (I'm NOT referring to abortion... different subject entirely), right?

Read the article linked in the OP. Abstinence-only sex education and contraception are discussed in it. They're not the only reasons cited, but they are mentioned as a factor.

This isn't about religon, it is largely about stupidity. Yes, a small % of these pregnancies are to loving unmarried couples, but most are to dumb people who don't think about the impact of their decisions on their own lives or that of their children.
