Actually last week was quite warm. This week were going a little bit below average. When I woke up every morning last week it was about 35-39 degrees. The 20 degrees is going to be a big shock to my body on Monday.
Yes, this is true, normally it is in the upper 20s to mid 30s at this time of year I think. Most trees bud after the main danger of frost is over and I just did not want anyone to get the wrong idea from Rachel's post and start bringing out any tender plants just yet lol. For instance tomorrow night is supposed to be even colder in the LI Pine Barrens -- 15 degrees for Manorville.
I went on a hike in New Jersey today. No leaves, no flowers. We're starting to have pleasant weather, but it will still be a couple of weeks before we see any budding, flowering, etc.
Still, I snagged a couple of pics on my poor quality phone cam.

Our trees started budding about a month ago, some trees are still bare and some are already fully leaved. I was just thinking today at how green the grass already is and all the bushes.
Here in the foothills of the Applachians, everything is starting to pop. Forsythia, Bradford pear trees, tulips, etc. The azaleas and dogwoods are just starting to bud nicely. The trees pretty much are greening up, and the ferns and hostas are starting to pop.
I love spring!
