Updated map of U.S. cultural regions
i have taken suggestions on the map and have updated it.
texas has been adjusted. california coastal regions have been added. great lakes region has been added. south west conneticut has been added to the mid atlantic. and various other lines have been adjusted slightly.

That is a pretty good map you put together. Can't say I see much I would change.
Recently I came across another map that proposes a US broken into 38 new states based on cultural regions. It's also interesting to take a look at and mostly accurate from what I could tell.

In this realm nothing will ever satisfy everyone. Sure, many -- me included -- might see something to quibble over and/or fine-tune according our own subjective specifications. But personally, and bottom line is, I think you did a hell of a job!

Great job! But as you mentioned, one thing I would tweak is "Great Lakes." I would end it just north of Milwaukee, as cities like Duluth, Green Bay and Madison are much more culturally similar to Minneapolis, Eau Claire and Saint Cloud than to Detroit or Buffalo.
A good amount of southern Colorado is more Southwest than Rocky Mountain, too (IMO).
