Now I know personally in NYC in my current neighborhood (ENY) that there is basically a never ending supply of drugs. I was in the drug business until about 04 (not proud of it) Ive seen ALOT of crazy scarface cocaine cowboys things stuff that will make you sick to your stomach but since I left ive seen more and more drugs and crime in the street level so ive just been wondering how is your community in terms of drugs...are there alot,is there crime caused by them,is there a war (battles between 2 crews for turf and other reasons) going on.

In the NyTimes about 5 days ago, they had an article about the indictment of 43 people in South Brooklyn for different drug charges and 6 people were charged with attempted murder.

The investigation started because apparently the leader ordered someone to kill someone in my neighborhood on 51st because they think he stole a car full of drugs.

I'm pretty sure there's a lot of drug trade in my neighborhood. But nothing like the late 80s early 90s how my dad described it to me. They'd do drive-bys on other blocks that sold crack back on those warm summer nights.

Sometimes I really wonder. I truly hope not but I'm afraid with the state of the city's finances and the country's (and world's) economic woes, that this could appear to some people to be a viable way to survive. The heroin, cocaine/crack eras aren't as much of a thing of the past as we would all hope it to be.

There is alot of drugs where I live. Many of the teenagers are in the drug game. You find drugs inside holes in the buildings, garbage cans etc etc. My street is one of the most notorious drug strips in the city so there is also a never ending supply of drugs here. But there is no drug warfare thankfully. Everyone co-exists.

Well, if you were in the drug trade, then you're probably aware that street-level drugs are the bottom of the real weight and $$v

You've seen "crazy scarface cocaine cowboys that will make you sick"

What's sick is how the drugs get to the "turfs" in the first place

nobody's growing cocaine on "turf".

Yes in my area there are lots of drugs around...and really it is everywhere you go..from the big cities to small towns unfortunately. The bigger cities of course have more drugs because there are more people (more demand). Lots of drugs floating around, and lots of kids I grew up with replacing the old timers who quit/die/move..so there is an endless supply of recruits. However, anyone who believes that it is worse now than it was in the 80s and 90s is wrong..it is much better than it was, and it is much less violent as well as drug dealers have figured out how to do it more quietly and not disrupt neighborhoods with extreme violence (it only serves to get unwanted attention to your "business" and location).

Yep street-level dealers are workhorses of the drug trade.

Unfortunately yes if you wanna hear some just ask me.

Yep just look at the mexican drug war.

Definately not but weed is grown everywhere.

i have seen atleast 12 different documentaries in the last 2 years about heroin use rising in the northeast at an alarming rate. nj, pa, and ny have the purest, cheapest and most abundant amount of heroin in the country now.
