If you loved to tour around on weekends within 200 miles of your hometown, what metro area is best? Which one has the most tourist/scenic/historical/cultural attractions nearby for weekend trips?

Which City has almost nothing to see near by?

So besides my metro, NYC, i would have to say Boston.

Boston has a nice old/modern feel to it along with its metro.

Sf is up there for the scenic aspects, beach, mountain, forests, wine country, etc. plus many cool towns...

new england in general has a lot in general though.

Have to agree with everyone else..
SF,NYC,Boston all have a lot to see within 200 miles, same with ATL and I'm sure a lot of cities.
Ones with nothing to see? I'm not sure..

How about Seattle?
Within 200 miles, you can be on a 14,400'+ peak, skiing at Whistler (giving a few extra miles), in the rainforest of the Olympics, sailing through the San Juan Islands, taking a katameran to Vicotria, BC, and on the coasts and in the deserts of Washington and Oregon. Not to mention Portland and Vancouver, BC.

How about St George Utah?

Within a hundred miles or so you have The Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Lake Powell and Las Vegas
