If you won 50 million dollars and could only stay in one state and raise a family, which would it be? Keep in mind recreation, culture, weather etc...

California, most likely. Pismo Beach or Morrow Bay in particular.

Me and the woman were talking about this yesterday, we decided we'd go back to Colorado and live in the mountains west of Denver.

50 Million is a good amount. If you arent planning on making it grow, You could live comfortably for a long time on that but I wouldnt splurge on more than 5. Then put the rest away and receive a certain amount each month. You also might need to think of your legacy both to your family as well as to the community at large.

Oh well, back to the conversation...

I'd stay right here in Oregon, but build a dream house on Maui and live there a couple months a year.
