America's Scariest Drives-

I have never traversed any of these routes but do you agree that they are the most scariest/deadliest roads in America?

I have driven most of those included with the slide show and find them to be enjoyable. One of my favorites was Hwy 50 but could see why that wouldn't be too fun in the winter.

I would also add:
Mt Washington Auto Road, NH
Hana Highway, HI
Fall River Road, Rocky Mtn NP, CO

Roosevelt Boulevard in Philadelphia. It gets two spots on the top ten most dangerous intersections list. Now that's scary!

I've always heard that Route 66 was a pretty dangerous highway.

I think the small roads leading up to remote ski resorts are the scariest. They are maintained by the ski resorts themselves, so they often have wooden guardrails or no guardrails at all with 2000 ft. dropoffs. Driving up to Ski Apache in New Mexico was one of the most frightening times in my life.

I totally agree with this. I've driven that road many times, and at night, you have to be VERY aware of who's on the road with you. I've had 2 friends killed (in two separate incidents) on that road. It's definitely scary.
