I dont see the need to signal when out on rural roads but once in town it is very imperative to signal even if in a protected turn lane.

I use them when I feel I should which is most of the time and always when changing lanes.

I hate to be trapped behind an old person whose light blinks for miles. If you can't see or hear it blinking you shouldn't be driving.

One of my hugest pet peeves is when people don't use their turn signals. I feel that if you choose not to use a turn signal, then you should forfeit your right to drive. You have to drive not only for you but for others around you, and when people just start merging into lanes and turning without warning, well, you just put everyone else around you in danger. Same with tailgating. I haven't seen much of the country, but I know this is a huge problem in the city I live in...ironically, I feel that drivers in Charlotte, just next door, use their signals a lot more. I know I'm a bit on the extreme side, but really, is it that hard to blink a few times???

Here at least I think most drivers use their signals. I always use them when in the city or in a town, but if there's no one else anywhere sometimes I usually just don't bother. Most of the time it's just a reflex if I'm driving to at least bump them on for a few seconds.

On the interstate I always use them to change lanes, unless there's no one in front/behind me.

Like I said though, for most people I would think it's just a natural reflex.

I used to live in upstate NY and it seems like the majority of people there would use signals when driving, even when changing lanes on the freeway. Out here in northern california I see it a lot less. I actually ran into a car that cut me off while cycling a few weeks ago because he failed to signal when turning right at a green light

I'm more annoyed with people who don't use their turn signals on streets rather than the lane changers on highways. It ticks me off to no end if I want to make a right on red and the driver I'm waiting on turns before he passes me.

The problem around here is the people who leave their turn signals AFTER they have turned or merge onto the interstate. I see it everyday.

It is because some drivers chose to buy the cheaper car without the turn signals.

I usually only use my turn signals if I'm drinking a beer. I don't need to get pulled over for something petty and then end up getting arrested for an open container.

This stupid country is always trying to hold me down.
