It should stop around the Mendocino County border with Sonoma.

Wyoming? Alberta? It's debatable whether Idaho is even Pac NW.

I'd say it's Alaska, BC, WA, and OR. Far north Cali may fit in geography wise but I don't think anyone considers them northwesterners.

That map is good, except it goes to deep into California.

You were going for broad. The SF Bay Area and California's Central Coast DO NOT belong as part of the PNW. Other than that, it seems fine.

Why don't you consider the Bay Area PNW?

The better question should be: would you place Oregon & Washington in California region? There really isn't anything in common with the Bay Area & the PacificNW but the northern California coastline down to Mendocino county could be considered PNW in my opinion.

The pacific northwest at the most extends down towards Redding or Eureka. From what I understand the southern most portion of the Cascades are just north of there.

The best map of the PNW follows the inside passage from the southern tip in Puget Sound all the way up Prince William Sound and Juneau Alaska.
