Default Tweety, I have found your Dream

I don't mind a light dusting that melts the same day but thats about it. Wish I knew where my dream city was.
Inexpensive housing (average around $130K I believe is the average), fairly temperate summers (though the heatwave this summer was hard to bear.. ), spectacular Fall leaves and foilage, cold winters, but the arctic parts are nowhere near Michigan's severity. We got down to 0F as a low only a couple of nights this past winter and had very little snow. December was very cold, but it broke just before Christmas. We had a couple of weeks with 12F-18F highs, but then January was in the 50's. While there are years with severe blizzards, it's not a regular deal. It's super green here and the people are wonderful. Check out Springfield, Missouri
(I'm originally from California, lived five years in Henderson, Nevada - am quite familiar with 115F heat with 20mph winds where your eyeballs reach the verge of melting in their sockets and it feels like the entire city is under an industrial strength blowdryer on high).

I have no suggestions, not being from the area. Except to say that, I don't blame you!

(I have sometimes even wondered about moving to the UP of Michigan! Yes, that's right, Marquette look out!) hehe
