Ketchup Brand by Region (restaurants, food, best)

What type of ketchup do you see most often in your region? For example, all I see in PA is Heinz Ketchup.

Heinz as well in Boston.

I think Heinz dominates the nation. That's not ALL I see here - supermarkets have their own brands and there are generics and other lesser known brands. But in restaurants and diners all I ever see is Heinz.

I'd say Heinz out here in CO, but that's also what I instinctively go for. I'm pretty sure Hunts is in most supermarkets as well.

It seems like Heinz doesn't have as much of a hold out West. When I was in Washington state I didn't see Heinz.

Heinz is the norm nationwide,maybe Hunts comes in second.

In California, we have Del Monte, but I thought it was catsup.

I have a friend in the Pittsburgh area that is acquainted with a VP at Heinz. One day, my friend and a couple of his friends took the VP out to dinner at a local restaurant. When the VP asked the waitress for a bottle of Ketchup, they produced a bottle of Hunts and handed it to him. They all got a good laugh over that gag. :-) Heinz is by far the best Ketchup I've ever had and the only one that I use.

Heinz is the leader by far around here. Hunt's probably follows. Del Monte used to be big but is not that popular now. Stokely ketchup was also big here at one time, but I think as a brand it is gone now. One I used to like when I would see it was Brook's, but i don't think it was normally available here unless as a fluke. Red Gold is actually very good; Kroger sold it for a while, but then that makes sense because the makers of Red Gold also produced the Kroger private label product (and that for Publix and many other chains as well). One I also miss is Campbell's ketchup...I think they stopped retail (and maybe food service) a long time ago.
