Which states, in your experience, are the most friendly?
For me, in order: Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia (the natives, anyway,) Alabama, Tennessee
They sure beat Kentucky, where I live now, where neighbors turn around and walk off without acknowledging you when you wave at them. Seriously.

OK, I'm very sorry, I forgot to set the multiple settings function, so just vote for one, then if you have any others, list them in the thread. Thanks for the understanding.

In my opinion there really is no more or less friendly STATE as a whole, because every state has stuffy areas where people generally turn away and friendly areas.
Quite honestly, I've done some traveling and never notice a huge difference in the friendliness of people.
It's not a Kentucky problem with people not saying hi, it's a national problem. People just usually -- GENERALLY -- tend not to be friendly like that, randomly. Sad, but true.

People in Virginia are very friendly. Even Northern Virginia is friendlier than most other places.
I don't think people in Tennessee are all that friendly though. At least not Nashville.
Georgians are nice too.
Least friendly: Pennsylvania , Conneticutt, and New Jersey.
Surpisingly, I found people in upstate New York extremely friendly.

OK, I've got to agree with Gregg. I believe that people in So. Dak. are very friendly and welcoming people.
I also thought the people in Oklahoma were very nice and for some reason, I feel very comfortable around Okies.
Myrtle Beach, SC also has very friendly people.
