Yeah. Chicago and NJ will likely be too cold for someone who likes only a cool breeze in the winter.

Try Seattle Pacific University. Seattle is a really diverse, open-minded city with good transportation and it doesn't really get cold in the winter (the climate is very mild, it just tends to be cloudy).

Portland is similar to Seattle...try the University of Oregon too (not actually in Portland, but close).

Good luck with finding that place. If you find a place with no racism at all, let me know.

I'm afraid that about any city in this country will have racism. It may be obvious, or it may be underlying. It may be confrontational racism, or it may be passive aggressive. Some neighborhoods might have more racism than others. But I think in most cities and towns it is there.

You can probably find a place with little racism, but I don't think you will ever completely escape it.

^Agreed. But that being said, I think that America as a whole is pretty welcoming and accepting of others. We definitely don't have the same level of tension that someone living in the Middle East would be used to.

Well, I'm not gonna base my choice on the weather. It's not a priority. But at least a warm summer! I'm really not a big fan of the cold, so if it's year-round, I'm not sure. But still, weather is not a priority!

Thank you for your help, mommytotwo

Thank you so much for your help, radraja, STLCardsBlues1989, TB Fla and Venom.

I'll take all that in consideration. However, TB Fla, I heard that Tampa isn't much pleasant to stay at. That it's too monotonous, nothing new to do. Except if they're sort of reviving the city! Or is there like Old Tampa and New Tampa or something???

I really appreciate your help guys, thank you

I personally like Tampa. The people are friendly, it's very laidback, and there are some great warm-water beaches nearby (amazing seafood too). It's a cool place. I've always had fun staying with family there.

I think the only reason why it gets a reputation for being monotonous is because it's often compared to Miami (which is definitely more young and vibrant, but also has more downsides - horrible traffic, lots of poverty, etc.).

Yep. Lots of cool neighborhoods to wander around, especially on the ocean. Lots of outdoor restaurants.

Also, wouldn't Ybor City in Tampa fit the "Old Tampa" description?
