I am a writer looking for quiet housing where I can write.
Looking for an apartment starting first part of June.
-
(1 bedroom or studio) I am a seeking quiet housing where I can write.
Currently I do not own a car, and prefer a central place that is walking friendly. Looking for a college town that I can bike in easily.
-
Are there any places that are less expensive, quiet, and yet easy to be on bicycle or foot?
-
I am looking for value and livability. If anyone can point me in that direction I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you for your help.

The first places that popped into my head are in Western Massachusetts: Amherst or South Hadley. Both nice college towns.

Maybe Ithaca, NY, but it depends on what is "lees expensive" to you. It has a nice area called The Commons Downtown and has a good bus system called TCAT.

You may like Louisville. A lot apts can be had easily for under $600. You would fit best in either Old Louisville, the Highlands, or Bardstown Rd.

My cousin goes to Texas A&M @College Station TX. Top notch public university and he pays 450 a month at the Doux Chene apartments there. I visited him once and it is a very nice college town and the complex was clean and safe

You could always come to Iowa City and kick around with Writer's Workshop people.
