There are quite a bit of houses in Northwestern New Mexico that have metal roofs.

For those that want to see a listing w/a MODERN red metal roof go to the northern new england real estate network site and search for "Campton" under NH. This is probably advertising, but I can't find a good image to copy and paste.

They're heavily advertised here in south Texas, but usually not chosen for new construction unless the buyer requests it, due to the higher cost.

I know a guy in Wisconsin's northwoods who put one on his home and loves it for the ease of snow removal.

Since we don't have snow here, the selling points are energy efficiency and durability against wind and hail.

Hawaii, especially on the outer islands, outside of the main towns, because they usually have to use catchment systems for their fresh water supply.
