In the next century If we are still alive and still going...
What do you predict will happen with our current world class cities along the way?

Natural disaster maybe?

they will become accountants and have a small scar on the right upper thigh from that summer at camp. they will also have a yen for peanut butter and pickles whenever aroused, save for sundays when they are racked by guilt and prefer fruit leather and teriyaki-style jerky.

Our cities will decay into urban jungles ruled by gangs. Cockroaches will eat babies alive, and rats will eat the cockroaches alive, and adult humans will eat the rats, roasting them over a fire they build in an old oil can.

Roads will decay, buildings will crumble and literally fall apart. They will make NY city into a giant jail, like that Arnold Schwarzenegger movie.

I will be dead by next century, though - unless I somehow live to over 130 years of age (would I really want to? quality of life must be very low by then).

Some cities will grow and others decline. The ethnic and religious demographics of several major cities will change. Technologies that don't exist today will be important in most of them. There will be new buildings, but some buildings known today will be demolished or abandoned. Murder and poverty will still exist in most of them, but so will life-saving and wealth.

That's all vague enough it has a good to great chance of being true.

This topic is far too vague and general, so please note the room sticky for future reference on posting in the General U.S. room: What is Considered On-Topic Here in General US? What topics belong in the City vs. City subforum? What are the Rules?

Thank you
