The NC High Country - West Jefferson, Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, etc... It is generally 10-15 degrees cooler up there than in the major cities of NC and the recreational opportunities in the mountains are endless!

The coast of Maine, specifically the mid-coast near Damariscotta. Beautiful weather, the smell of pine trees and salt water, great food, simple living...

I love the beach. But If Im not in the mood for salt water, there are a lot of springs in Florida. The water is always crystal clear and 70 degrees in the winter or summer.

This is lithia springs

Whenever I'm in california for the summer I try to make it out to Pismo beach at least once. The atmosphere is quite peaceful and there are a lot of interesting nearby activities (and pretty good restaurants)
