True, but the boom has been more subdued with the unemployment rate now standing at 7% in TX. I fully expect it to boom again soon compared to many other states.

But it was already booming for years even before the recession, and even now it's still booming, just not quite as much obviously. Texas is probably the last state to qualify as an answer here. It's almost like asking which city is next in line to be a great American city and answering Chicago because the recession has diminished its greatness a little.
