What American accent do you have?

Your Result: The South
That's a Southern accent you've got there. You may love it, you may hate it, you may swear you don't have it, but whatever the case, we can hear it.

80% The South
61% The Midland
57% The Inland North
36% Philadelphia

Does it match where you were raised?
It matched (NYC area) ...and it didn't even use the one people test me on all the time. Do "call," "maul" and "bawl" sound the same or different? They all sound the same to me.

Your Result: The Inland North (100%)

You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."

I got midland, and it said I would be a good radio or tv announcer.

Haha, that is what I do for a living! This survey was designed by a genius!

My Result: The Midland

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.
Result Breakdown:
88% The Midland
77% The Inland North
72% The South
58% The West
57% The Northeast
52% Philadelphia
21% Boston
17% North Central
----------------------
Which is a bit bizarre as I was born and raised in Minnesota. I was in the military for 4 years and lived in Florida for two years after that. Think all those accents may have mingled together in my younger days? Nahhhhh.

I usually score with 'The Midland' on these quizzes, but came out Western this time around, which makes more sense because I'm a native Southern Californian.

I know my girlfriend would score differently because she says pen/pin the same along with feel/fill. It drives me crazy.

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: Philadelphia
Your accent is as Philadelphian as a cheesesteak! If you're not from Philadelphia, then you're from someplace near there like south Jersey, Baltimore, or Wilmington. if you've ever journeyed to some far off place where people don't know that Philly has an accent, someone may have thought you talked a little weird even though they didn't have a clue what accent it was they heard.

87% Philadelphia
81% The South

The South. Pretty accurate. I've never been mistaken as having any accent other than a Southern one.
