Default Which american accent do you have?

Take the quiz that tells you which American accent you have

What American accent do you have?

Does it match where you were raised?

------------My result-------------

(copy and paste the BBCode)

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The West
Your accent is the lowest common denominator of American speech. Unless you're a SoCal surfer, no one thinks you have an accent. And really, you may not even be from the West at all, you could easily be from Florida or one of those big Southern cities like Dallas or Atlanta.
Result Breakdown:
100% The West
95% The Midland
63% Boston
59% North Central
42% The South
19% The Inland North
13% Philadelphia
9% The Northeast

What American accent do you have?Your Result: The Midland

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

Yeah, pretty much (almost pun intended! LOL)

What American accent do you have?

Your Result: The South

That's a Southern accent you've got there. You may love it, you may hate it, you may swear you don't have it, but whatever the case, we can hear it.

Result Breakdown:
96% The South
95% The Midland
60% Philadelphia
56% The Inland North
39% The Northeast
33% The West
0% North Central
0% Boston

My Result: The Northeast

Judging by how you talk you are probably from North Jersey, New York City, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Chances are, if you are from New York City (and not those other places) people would probably be able to tell if they actually heard you speak.

That was my answer and it is true when I go down south they automatically know that I come from not even up north somewhere, but NYC itself

Pretty Cool Quiz. Thank You.

Wow--Midland.

I've never been accused of NOT having an accent. It really leans to the south.
When I'm out west, everyone comments on my Southern accent. When I'm in the south, every now and then someone has said I say some words like "a yankee"...

Maybe as far as the test is concerned, I have a tin ear!
