MILWAUKEE, WI

LIKES:

1) Milwaukee's amazing lakefront.
2) The summer festival season:
Milwaukee Highland Games
PrideFest
Gathering Waters Festival (http://www.friendslsp.org/lsp_gw_main.php - broken link)
Polish Fest
Summerfest
Bastille Days
Festa Italiana
German Fest
African World Festival
Arab World Fest
Irish Fest
Mexican Fiesta
Labor Fest
Indian Summer Festival
Brady St. Festival
State Fair
Locust Street Festival
Downer Classic
Greek Fest (http://www.annunciationwi.com/greek_fest.php - broken link)
Summer Sizzle
Armenian Fest
South Shore Frolics
East Side Tomato Romp
Bay View Bash
Asian Fest
3) Vibrant urban neighborhoods like the Upper/Lower East Sides, Riverwest, Brewer's Hill, Easttown, the Third Ward, Walker's Point, Bay View, Washington Heights, and Sherman Park.
4) Outstanding restaurant scene for such a small city.
5) Our proximity to other places of interest (Chicago, Madison, WI Dells, northwoods, etc.). Example, I'm going to Soundset 2010 at Canterbury Park in the Twin Cities next weekend.

DISLIKES:
1) Poor political leadership.
2) Animosity between city and suburbs.
3) Downtown Milwaukee seems lackluster compared to other cities.
4) No metro-wide public transportation system.
5) We have way too many minor league sports teams (Admirals, Wave, Iron, Bonecrushers, Bavarians, Marauders, Momentum, Bombers). I would gladly trade them all in a heartbeat for an NHL or MLS team.

Lexington, KY -
Like:
Great campus area
Cheap cost of living
Location centered between Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta, Memphis, many other major cities
Lots of positive attitudes
Basketball

Dislike:
Ultra radical left wing hippies
Ultra radical right wing fogeys
Pseudo intellectuals of both branch
Horrid weather
Cookie cutters homes, no plan for REAL public transport, AKA sprawl

Detroit
Likes:
AMAZING food
AMAZING architecture, in what parts of the city are left
The friendliest, most caring people I've ever met, seriously.
The Riverwalk, the Lakes, Tigers games, Pistons games, Red Wings games
Beautiful summers, snowy winters, the way it should be.

Dislikes:
50-70% of the city is vacant and falling into disrepair, expect to see a lot of it torn down soon
High crime in certain areas at night
Doom and gloom naysayers
Lack of jobs
Lack of good public schools in the city.

Milwaukee is one of my favorite cities on Earth. No joke! (Removed the list from the OP to not take up the whole page)

Seriously, if I didn't have Detroit, it'd be Milwaukee! Good post

Charlotte
1. Clean city
2. Home, where I was born and where family is
3. Nice cost of living found a 1 bdroom apartment in SouthPark for $499
4. The Neighborhoods, I grew up in NoDa when it was the hood and now its a artsy-fartsy neighborhood that I love to visit, and hang out with friends
5. The road Network here in Charlotte is amazing, most roads lead uptown and there are plenty of roads to bypass the inner city if you wanted to.

Dislikes
1. I feel like the infrastructure here is a little old. When I am on 277 I fell like the road is going to fall apart under me.
2. The city has changed so much since I lived here last. The only thing that is the same is the YMCA in NoDA
3. Parking Lots and Parking Decks as tall as skyscrapers uptown
4. there no real connection between the sububrs and the city, I guess living in Atlanta where the suburbs flowed somethly with the city I got spoiled
5. Wish they would hurry up and finish 485 and Independence

Expensive. (hopefully prices keep on going down)
Dirty
Parts seem a little run down. Not as "new" as the south.
Not really naturally beautiful. No mountains.

Likes:

1. The 10 + Lakes and the bike paths throughout the city
2. Music/Arts scene
3. The Mississippi River
4. The quality of life - sophistication, education, cleanliness and affordability (C.O.L)
5. Four Major Sport teams -Twins, TWolves, Vikes, and Wild (in St Paul) plus the Gophers

Dislikes:
1. Cold Weather from End of Nov. to Early Apr.
2. Isolated, 7 hrs to MKE and 7 to CHI, that's about it.
3. Lack of diversity - It's pretty Vanilla here, and really no ethnic neighborhoods
4. Traffic sucks everywhere in the metro, and there is road construction all the time!
5. Lack of 'night-life'
