I know this may be a long shot but does anyone know if there are any bus trips from Virginia to Seattle?

Yeah, you don't ride greyhound because you want to. You do it because you have to. You can take amtrak or rent a car one-way or take greyhound of the sky (Southwest)... all more expensive, but faster and less scary....

I took a bus trip from Camp lejeune NC to Tampa FL and that was close to unbearable. I can't imagine going from VA to Seattle. I would probably kill myself. Try to take a train if you can.

I've Been on Greyhound 10 Times..in the past 2 and a half Years.. each time going across the country!!...seriously... it's not that bad lol ...because pretty much you have to Ride it since it's really cheap especially if you book weeks in Advance... but then again.. lol you don't get hardly any sleep at all... so sometimes it can be horrible.. you kinda turn into a zombie at the end.. lol but at least you get to see scenery... and the food is cheap.. you usually stop at a rest stop or a Fast food place... I went from Syracuse, NY to Fresno,ca with 5 bucks.. no joke!! and i made it to cali perfectly fine... in 3 days and this was in February of 2008 and yeah i mean people were really really friendly... they wanted to help out..with what they could... =) Trust me it does seem scary..because i know most of the stations in the bigger cities in the East Coast and West Coast and Mid West are filled with Bums...but honestly.. you'll be safe... Good luck..and take care

Nothing wrong with Greyhound if you can stand the long ride from VA to Seattle.

I noticed a story in the Wall Street Journal recently about Greyhound going "upscale." Not sure about cross-country trips, though.
