Its actually 90 miles, and yes it does make a difference, not a huge difference, but a difference nonetheless. In fact, the weather is noticeably different between the northern and southern suburbs within the Chicago metro area. Again its a slight difference, a matter of a few degrees and a few inches of snow.

No, it's 90 miles from Downtown Milwaukee to Downtown Chicago. I believe it's only 63 miles from the southern city limits of Milwaukee to the northern city limits of Chicago.
