Other thing I really like about Florida winters is that cold always means a sunny sky, so there are never dreary, cloudy and cold depressing days. Sun and cold or warmth. Can't beat it.
I agree. Places with an exposure to winter without being too cold are nice. You get just enough to get a taste of winter. But you don't get too much. And on the rare occasion it's cold, you're reminded of why you don't live somewhere that gets weather like that on a regular basis and you realize how good you have it.

Wyoming. At least the parts in Yellowstone.

Anyone else watch the documentary "Yellowstone"? There are parts of Yellowstone, that lie in a horseshoe shape mountain range, that fall to -44F during the winter months. Amazing.

Default Vermont..

...very cold temperatures, with lots of snow, NOT a mediocre season of rain and sleet and temps in the 40's and 50's.

If you're going to have a winter, have a "real" one.

The general Albany area has the best winters IMO. I love the snow and cold weather without it being too unbearable such as Syracuse, Chicago, and Minneapolis.

The NYC metro, the Boston metro, and the Philadelphia metro are all pretty up there when it comes to places with great winters also.

Places with no snow and warm temps shouldn't have the right to call the season winter if you ask me.
It's more about the snow in the Syracuse area, than the cold. We have our cold days, but the snow can be tough. With that said, it is dealt with in a timely manner.

Minnesota, especially Northeastern Minnesota with cross country skiing, dog sledding, ice fishing, ice climbing, snowmobiling, and winter camping. Nothing better than having to cut through ice and take a polar bear plunge after being in a hot sauna.

Close thread.

North Carolina.

You get a little snow now and again, the leaves come off the trees, so you know it's winter but typical Jan. day is 50 with a 5:30 sunset.

Colorado or Utah

not insanely cold but you still get snow. Places without snow do not deserve mention.
