I am originally from San Francisco, but live in Orange County, CA now. Orange County has way over 3 million people, so I feel pretty anonymous in listing that place here. At the same time it's enough to give others a general idea of my basis for comparison with other areas. Most people want to remain fairly anonymous on a public forum. If it's a smaller state like CT, that's close enough, no need to list exact town. For a larger state, something like TX panhandle, Upstate NY, Philly, LA all are big enough to keep someone anonymous but give others an idea of where your viewpoint is coming from.

I'm from the Pittsburgh area and would love to stay here if I could find a job that paid well.

I will be moving to the DC area shortly to find a better job and will stay until I get sick of living there (which I anticipate won't be long).

It makes it a useless post because we don't know where "here" is!!! At least, if for whatever bizarro reason that I can't even imagine, you just can't put your city/state on the top right, at least put it in the post!!! "Here in Cinci" or wherever!
Sorry, but GOD that drives me NUTS!!!
Great Point!!
(I reside at a "Undisclosed Location"...lol)

Born in the northeast. Family's roots are in Georgia and New York.
