You forgot Pittsbughese
Erie, PA does not have a Great Lakes accent.
That upper midwest accent is not the same as Canadian and it should not share the same color as upper Maine.

I think its very difficult to make a map of accents.
Just for my area, New England as a whole cannot be generalized under a New England accent. Even people from Boston have a very different accent than people from some of its suburbs. Rhode Island, particularly the Providence area, has its own distinct accent. I imagine southwestern Connecticut has its own accent due to influence from New York. Western Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine each share similarities in non-rhotic pronunciation, but there are even differences among those.

As much as I hate to admit it, Pittsburgh's accent is most like the Highland Southern (or Appalachian) accent. It is heavily influenced by Scots-Irish with Eastern European overtones.
Don't ask me why Italians, being the second largest nationality in the metro, didn't influence the accent more...I don't know. 16% Italian; probably about 4% Scots-Irish...

Texas accent varies.....People in Beaumont and Port Authur do not sound like Houstonians or Dallasites. Same with Dallasites and Houstonians, different accents.

B'more and Philly do have virtually the same accent. Nice map. Here's another more detailed one:

Uhhh, the eastern tip of Long Island definitely doesn't have a Boston accent, lol. There's definitely no Boston influence at all there. Also, downstate NY has our own accent. Our accent isn't inland northern. I think the first map is way more accurate, no offense.

Accents are a strange thing to attempt to group into one geographic location. For instance, I have grown up in VA my whole life and do not have an accent at all. Neither does my mom. This was confirmed when I visited friends of a friend in NJ and when they asked where I was from the response was, "But you don't have an accent!" Now there are people who have strong to very mild accents all over VA. And many like myself who really don't have any kind of accent. I have never been able to explain why every other native Virginian does or does not have an accent. I think this is the case all over the country though.

I'm from Philly, now live in norfolk, went back to Philly, and my whole family said I have a tidewater accent. I can't tell, but people here say warter, 'do, 'sto, NAWFAWLK insted of NOR-FOLK! I think SE V.A should have it's own category.

The Northern of Jersey sounds like the NY accent. For example Joe Pepci he's from Newark NJ, and he sounds like if he were from NY
