Such as where? There are good jobs in many different places. New York, Houston, Seattle, Boston, Minneapolis, Atlanta, Denver, Charlotte, etc. These are very different regions.

might want to take a look at st. louis, second only to new york in securities (wachovia etc). low cost of living as well also there isn't a culture of greed here like there is on wall street

You just have to temporarily move to where there's jobs and just plan on moving back. A friend of mine couldn't find a teaching job in our area for 2 years. He moved down to Virginia to teach, even though he really didn't want to at all. He got his year of experience, applied for jobs in NY while he was down there, and got hired here. You gotta do what you gotta do in this economy nowadays.
