As for Tennessee? Run for your life, and I mean it. I have as I was asualted by a drunk judge and the cops do NOTHING! Chattanooga, Cleveland, Knoxville DANGER! DANGER!
Definitely Portland, Oregon. There seems to be many in this city. I guess they must find a comfort level here, or there would not be so many out and about.
I don't know if it's the "best" place for a transperson per se, but I know that where I live in San Diego I've seen many transgendered people that seem to be happily going about their lives--without unnecessary attention or harassment. If considering San Diego, in particular I'd suggest the Hillcrest neighborhood, as it has a large LGBT population. Good luck!
I live in Memphis and it is horrible here for me. I have been trying with no success to find a trans friendly city where I can live and go to school.
I am sorry to hear that you have had these troubles
It is too bad that some people can't just judge someone for their character instead of focusing on their bigotry
Anyways, SF, LA, Portland and Seattle are very friendly toward TG. Other cities like Houston, Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, NY etc have some very open minded areas as well but not quite as much so as my first list
I really don't understand your logic. First off, my sister is gay, and lived in south Florida. She didn't find it that accepting. I really have to disagree with that due to her negative experience. She's back here in NYC metro and it's a lot better. 1 of the reasons why she moved back to NY.
I definitely agree with you about South Florida....a transgendered city worker lost her job and the area is very homophobic;however I think Key West and maybe some of the Southeastern coast of Florida are more tolerant.

Mostly agree
Key West and Ft Lauderdale are the only places that are TG friendly in S Florida
NY is a little better although you might want to stick to lower/ midtown Manhattan, a few neighborhoods in Brooklyn and Astoria Queens or it probably will be a problem in the NY area

lol you know there are tons more neighborhoods in Queens. You don't even really know NYC. I've also seen a lot of them in Harlem, which is outside midtown, obviously.
