Just give it up, you have no more right to have a big ego than anyplace else does
I know I don't have more of a right, but I'm saying that it's more acceptable for a NYer to have an ego than, say, Omaha.
No, that's not how I feel. I feel lucky to be born and raised in one of the best areas in the world. I love coming home at the end of the day to a nice house in a nice neighborhood that I love. I also feel very lucky that I can take a quick train to midtown and do some things that most other people can't do.
This has nothing to do with my occupation, and I find that to be an insult. How do you know what type of person I am based on a forum? Half the time I'm just busting people's chops.
I'm sorry if you find it to be insulting, but I am going to have to stick by what I said. Sometimes the things you say on here make me wonder if you are a day over 15, and I don't know how someone who seems to have that maturity level can teach others. I don't know you in person, and you seem like a genuinely nice person, but I am confident that at least 90% of us on this forum are tired of your endless boosting of New York City.
By the way, we all live in one of the best areas in the world: the United States.

As if other NYers and Texans don't do it?
By the way, the 84 in my username stands for the year I was born...I don't think I would lie.

Uh, no it doesn't
The hardworking person who does much for his neighbors, community and family and who sees his city improve has as much right to be proud of it and have an ego as a NY'er

I wasn't accusing you of lying. Just that the things you say are very immature sometimes.
I'm not talking about other New Yorkers and Texans right now. I'm talking about you. You are one of the biggest culprits of unnecessary hometown ego-trips I see on this forum.
I don't want to divert this thread too much though.
