When I was in Seattle, I liked the Space Needle not for the tower itself, but because it was a great GPS. If I was Downtown or just outside of Downtown, all I had to do was look up and see where the Space Needle was.

For views, I much preferred the Columbia Center. Much cheaper for the observation deck, and more impressive. And less touristy.

Uhhhm, sorry. Seattle's Space Needle is just a spec next to the fabulous CN Tower in Toronto.

As mentioned on the first page, OKC has the Space Tower that was opened in 1968 and is 330' tall. Unfortunately, it's been indefinitely closed since 2010 due to mechanical damage from flooding.

Doesn't the Detroit area have a similar tower that was once part of Boblo Island ??
Yes, but it's in Amherstburg Ontario.

I wish we had one somewhere downtown near the lodge. It would be a nice addition to the skyline.

not as nice as the one in Toronto to be sure, but Falcon Heights has a pretty impressive Space Tower (Needle) that might just be the oldest one in the country tho admittedly I didn't bother to verify that one way or the other

Can anyone identify this needle-like tower?

Isn't that Toronto's CN tower? If so, it's way up there all the way to 1815'!
