My mother-in-law is thinking of retiring in Florida. She currently lives in Worcester, MA. Where is the most popular place to retire in FL that's relatively cheap?

I would not wish Florida on my worst enemy. Tell her to look into Texas.

jp646 - Have your MIL look into Northern Central Florida Counties like Lake, Sumter, Marion & West Volusia (DeLand in particular).

I feel the same way about the "VILLAGES". Bad behavior there seems to be the norm.
