Wyoming, Idaho and Montana have been doing very well. Wyoming because of the natural resources and Idaho and Montana because of new construction. North Dakota also has a very good economy because it has some of the highest amount of natural resources in the country (mainly in the western part of the state).

Colorado (my home state) is doing well in areas but not the entire state.

Denver has never regained momentum since around 2000. Denver had an excellent economy in the late 90s but it has slowed off alot since then. Colorado Springs is actually probubly economically doing the worst in the state with the troop deployments and also has lost quite a few high-tech jobs also.

Although the Western slope is doing well or where ever they have natural resources in the state of Colorado the economy is doing great. Grand Junction, Colorado has a great economy with all that construction.

Ann Arbor, Iowa City, and Madison metros are said by the Chicago Fed to be growth areas. Everywhere else in the Midwest is down, although finding work in Chicago should not be too difficult for people with education ......... or Mexicans looking to work at McDonalds.

Select areas of the South and West are growing, but not all.
