New York City is the cultural center of the world (http://www.baruch.cuny.edu/nycdata/chapter13_files/intro.htm - broken link)

Sorry, but I don't stoop down to the level and insult any single person on here. I have enough class not to do that.

And?

I was looking through that and did not see where it said that anyone that lives in NY is instantly cultured.

So, quit patting yourselves (not you, the poster --- generally speaking) on the back about how diverse your culture is in NYC and other urban locations. Your culture is DIFFERENT. It's not better or as diverse as you think it is. You are just so cocooned in urban culture with a like-minded media that reinforces how special you (and they) are that you believe it.
New York City is the most diversified city in the world, which makes their citizens the most cultured in the world. New Yorkers donít want the culture of the deep south and the hey yall mentality. If New York City adopted that culture then I would move immediately.

You have been going on and on about being afforded all these opportunities to become cultured due to you living in NY. I just figured they must have been reserved for those from NY since you act as if someone from Savanah, GA could never have these opportunities.
Someone from Savannah, GA would not have those opportunities.

Someone from Savannah could be more well traveled than a NY'er and experience even more culture than a NY'er.

Try again

How can you live in New York and not be exposed to culture. Their is so many different races of people that bring their culture to the city.

Every race of people has their own neighborhoods in their part of the city. Where the openly express their culture.

For example: Indian Parade, West Indian Parade, Puetio Rican Day Parade, Dominican Parade
New York City recongizes all of these cultures on ceartin days.

Little Italy for pizza and other Italian food, China town for Egg Roles and other Chinese food, Spanish Harlem for spanish food, Jackson Heights in Queens for Indian food

when you pass threw these areas or stop and sample food or if your in the area for business or what ever you will be exposed to the culture of the people that live in the area, Its a fact its all around you.

If you work in the New York Metro area or in the city itself your going to be working with many different people of other races so you will be exposed that way. One way or other you will be exposed to other cultures in New York City. To argue other wise dosen't make any sense!!!

I lived in Queens where there is so many different cultures and races of people alot of immigrants from other nations as well and all bring and openly express thier cultures.

If you live in New York City your going to be exposed to many different cultures. Their is no way that people from a rural part of the U.S. would be exposed to all of the cultures that make up New York City. If you disagree than stop lieing to yourself!!!!
