Cool, I was just on Farmers a few minutes ago too. I haven't been on the subway in years lol, it's either the bus or Long Island Railroad for me.

I can't wait to move though.

It all depends on where you are at. The thing is, Pittsburgh has been run down and dirty since the 18 and 1900's when midwestern cities were new and shiney. Thats why Pittsburgh gets so much attention for turning things around in the inner core. 20-30 years ago Pittsburgh looked dirty and run-down almost everywhere you were but now you basically have to look for the hood to see the bad stuff. Our hoods though are just as rough as anywhere in the U.S. A lot of them look like a big bomb went off and everybody left except the druggies.

Also, you won't find another city with only 25% minority and a murder rate of a city with 50% minority. In other words it's the whitest city with highest murder rate and the highest black on black murder rate.

You sure about that? I'm pretty sure Pittsburgh has more black people than SF, and it regularly has less murders.

Pittsburgh:
88,480 black residents (79 homicides in '08, 65 victims were black = a black murder rate of 73.5/100k residents)

San Francisco:
51,795 black residents (100 homicides in '08, 47 victims were black = a black murder rate of 90.3/100k residents)

Though SF isn't one of the "whitest" cities at all...but it is the most Asian big city, and has lots of white people too...and few blacks, among the lowest black populations in the nation for a big city.

You may be right, although I'm not sure how you got those numbers. 47 is about half of 100 and 65 is about 3/4 of 79.??? Obviously most of Pittsburghs homicides were blacks and only half of SF homicides were black.

I also never realized how few blacks there were in SF.
