Are there any urban yet reasonably priced cities?
I currently live in LA and really want to move. I love urban cities like NYC, Boston, SF, and Chicago, but they are just as expensive, if not more expensive, than LA. Are there any cities, either medium or large (not small...I like bustling cities), that are similar, but cheaper. Good public transportation is a huge plus as well.
I was thinking maybe Seattle or Portland, OR. Are they any others in other parts of the country? Maybe Cincinnati? Providence? Portland, ME? Location and weather don't matter as I like all types of weather and acclimate well anywhere and I am a pharmacist so I can work at any CVS type store or drug store.
And yes, I did research the forums and didn't find my specific situation.

Seattle is prolly a good choice, except there are many suburbs. I believe the downtown is quite urban though.

Chicago is definitely cheaper than LA and I think gives you the best urban experience for your money. My friend lives there and pays under $500 for a good sized studio in a nice neighborhood a few blocks from an El Station, rents there seem very reasonable. Philadelphia and Baltimore would also be a good choices.

Denver Colorado is one one of the top choice cities for Ex-Angelinos, and Californian's in general..It is generally cheaper than LA. Dallas,Houston,Atlanta seem to be popular as well.

Cleveland has a good transit system. But, it might be a bit too small for you.
