Miami is very walkable in many areas including places like downtown, Little Havana, Brickell, Coconut Grove and inner ring suburbs like Miami Beach, Coral Gables, North Miami, etc.
I think the heat & humidity plays a factor as well but Miami is walkable.

Boston's roads weren't made in a day unlike say Miami, Boston just sort of Happed, however it is walkabe due to the Time period it Developed
