I think the whole city is breathing a collective sigh of relief, and snickering at Daley.

Now we can put the mess behind us and start dealing with the actual issues.

A win for the taxpayers. And as Chicago 60614 pointed out, time to get back to dealing with the major issues that plague the Chicagoland area.

Tokyo is out- the big push is for Rio- very pretty girls (not that Chicago doesn't have pretty girls-I was one of them!) and Pele!

Plus, South America has never hosted an Olympic games. I just heard on ESPN it's down to Rio and Madrid. Two good choices, but I still would've liked to see them in the US again

They said the final announcement will be made at in about 45 minutes.

I'm a big Rio fan cause I live in Brazil half the year(Sao Paulo). I wish I were there on the beach with all the people waiting to see how it turns out.

Anyway, The Olympics are so inflated and exaggerated as far as importance. Chicago may have dodged a bullet.
