Of course, when I say "roughest," people will automatically think "dangerous." But no, I do not mean dangerous.
When you go to a sports game, where are you most likely to get *****ed out? Where are you most likely to run into someone who will cuss you out? Where are the roughest looking people? Where are the most avid, crazy sports fans?
There are no facts to prove any of this, so we're just going to have to stick with personal experiences; the most reliable of all resources.
I chose the four cities that I believe fit the title best.
I know from extensive personal experiences in Boston (where I will be this week), Chicago, and NYC, that none of those cities are all that rough. So I went with Philly
I thought Philly a bit more trendy than what people(from NY) told me. There are some really good nightspots there where its less about beer and the eagles as it is about house music and hipsters(A group I detest but Philly has em just like we do here in SF). I was pleasantly surprised by that city.
As far as the question:
Sports Fanatics: All 4 are known for their diehard fans.
Roughest Looking People: I dont know, maybe one of the outer boroughs.
Most likely to get cussed in: Honestly, L.A. people rub me as being most aggressive when push comes to shove. Out of the 4 though, Id say New York I suppose, that's one of the stereotypes people have about NYC, but I find them quite friendly are far more interested in outsiders than Angelenos.
It's Chicago. You may have seen drunkenness as its worst, but believe me until you've stared at the pure picture of Sobriety in the haggard face of a Chicago executive, at six AM on the Redline, you don't know what it means to have lingering images haunt your nightmares.
This city has toughened me up--probably for the worst.
