Obviously, New York and Chicago are awe-inspiring cities- even from a distance. From this list, I went with San Francisco, with its unique buildings, topography, and the Golden Gate Bridge. I also voted for Miami with its impressive skyline.
I'd vote for Pittsburgh. The view of the skyline as you come out of the Fort Pitt tunnel is nothing short of breathtaking. All of the gorgeous bridges are nice, too.
IMO, Pittsburgh's is only impressive because of the hills and rivers, not because of any extremely great buildings. Denver's is mostly impressive b/c of the mountain backdrop. Snow in July! The buildings themselves are fairly ordinary, except for the Capitol Bldg with its gold dome.
Could the people from Seattle please quit posting pictures all the time? They remind me of an overly-self-satified guy I knew there who used to date my daughter.
I don't feel the same way about pittsburgh. i think that PPG place is very impressive. It may not be too tall, but it has a great grid like facade and looks perfect. Also, the US steel building is massive and impressive. But the Hills do make it looks better and the rivers that join look great also which at the end makes for a great skyline. PIttsburgh got one of my votes
Denver's CBD isn't that close to the mountains thus not making denver impressive because of a mountain backdrop. It's impressive because it's tall. And another thing that looks good in Denver is the City hall - city county building. Also, Wells fargo is another interesting building if you have every seen it. It has a rounded top, really nice looking
LA gets a vote from me because it's actually really impressive and very underatted when It is very tall and has some great buildings. people often dislike it because they say it's too small in relation to the Population of LA, but I think it is a very elegant looking downtown
Atlanta also got a vote from me because It's unlike any other american skyline. It's very spread out, which isn't like most american cities and i like it for that. There are also great buildings there and they are gaining many more buildings in the future, which would add up to a better skyline
And the last one that got my vote is seattle. It is very tall with the Bank of amica/columbia center. it also has many other classy buildings that i really like and In all it looks really good. It looks Great at night with the space needle in the forground
I don't see why New Orleans isn't on this list. Aside from the superdome, no part of the skyline is that interesting, but because of the flatness of the area, it can be seen from bridges over one-hundred miles away on a very clear day.
I mean the tallest buildings can be seen, not the superdome, you gotta get alot closer to see that, but you can see One Shell Square and the Plaza Tower easy.
