and the boomers are going to make those costs double in 10 years, double again in 10 more years. boomers were born between 1945 and 1965. So they range in age, currently, between 50-70. there are going to be MASSIVE increases in their medical expenses, quite soon. Our economy is SHRINKING in total output, when you calculate inflation into it. So where's the money coming from for that elderly care, hmm? this does NOT include their SS and VA benefit costs, either! Which add another 1/2 trillion $ and are going to increase, too.

Politicians don't DARE touch such programs, so there will be HUGE pressures to inflate the dollar, until other countries just refuse to accept payment for their goods in $.

Default Well then...

it's a darn good thing that the baby boomers have the Millennials.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: THURSDAY, JUNE 25, 2015

Millennials Outnumber Baby Boomers and Are Far More Diverse, Census Bureau Reports

JUNE 25, 2015 — Millennials, or America’s youth born between 1982 and 2000, now number 83.1 million and represent more than one quarter of the nation’s population. Their size exceeds that of the 75.4 million baby boomers, according to new U.S. Census Bureau estimates released today. Overall, millennials are more diverse than the generations that preceded them, with 44.2 percent being part of a minority race or ethnic group (that is, a group other than non-Hispanic, single-race white).

Medicare is a stand alone program not general funded. Medicaid is general funded. According to what I have read boomers consist of 26% of population.Since after WWII when US held more gold than the rest of the world combined; other currencies were pegged to Dollar. Then the dollar was taken of gold standard and they are pegged to dollar still. The dollar is high now called strong dollar. SS is also a stand alone program. Actually SS has been used to fund many other being a pay-go system and as over payments disappear many programs general funded will be in worse problems.
