There are far wealthier areas, but this is overall the wealthiest City in the State.
For California the distinction over which city is the absolute richest usually is traded back and forth between the following 5 cities:
Atherton, San Mateo County, SF Bay Area
Hillsborough, San Mateo County, SF Bay Area
Rolling Hills, Los Angeles County, LA Area
Hidden Hills, Los Angeles County, LA Area
Rancho Santa Fe, San Diego County, SD Area
Wealth measured how? Net worth? Household income? Per-capita income? Home values per dwelling unit? Home values per square foot? Real estate values per lot size?
By any of these metrics, if I had to guess without looking, in Illinois I'd say it's either Bannockburn or Kennilworth.

In any cat. Kenilworth always wins, so I would put Kenilworth in as IL top city followed by Winnetka.
I would use per capita or household income.
