Maybe it's because southerners DON'T wait until it's 105 to turn on the AC. All you hear about is how expensive it is to run the AC all year in the south.

After 105° days with 90% humidity...Southerners are too tired to do much bragging I suspect.

yeah it's kinda ridiculous. Even if I complain that it's 10 degrees here (which it was last week) my Northern friends will say "that's not cold" Really? I don't care where you're from, 10 degrees in cold. I'll agree with a Northern person that 90 degrees is hot, even though it can get much hotter than that here.

along the same vein....why do people in the warm winter spots boast about the warm weather?

"It's 20 degrees right now and snowing!"

"HAHAHAH - It's 70 degrees here and sunny!"

huh? If I wanted to live in a warm winter place, I'd move there. I'm not jealous.

(and don't lie, this happens ALL.THE.TIME - way more than ppl bragging about snow to ppl who live in warm climates )

^ at the same time though, while it seems if you have contact with a person living down south at all during the winter they WILL bring up the fact it's 35 where you are and 65 where they are - I never see the reverse much during the summer.

While it's 82 and sunny in Chicago for 4 months, I don't see people constantly screaming at everyone in Phoenix and Miami that it's toasty down there.

Because it doesn't take toughness to handle heat.
