A significant portion of the land is taken by a large park. I'd say perhaps half a square mile, or so, leaving 2.6 square miles for residents.

Not in US so have a UK postcode. Our specific postcode includes about 30 houses along our road - all in a row except for a few. So a small area. Our county, however, is over 3,000 square miles and has a population of only about 90,000.

I'm basically on the border of two zip codes in St. Louis, 63104 (where I reside) and 63110 (a few blocks away) so I'll give info for both. Wow, i'm surprised about how low the population density's are for both zip codes; I thought each would be at least 8,000 per square mile?!?!?

63104
Population: 19,088
Area in Square Miles: 3.4
Population Density Per Square Miles: 5,614
# of Housing Units: 10,283
63110
Population: 20,163
Area in Square Miles: 5.7
Population Density Per Square Miles: 3,537
# of Housing Units: 9,757
