I'm in Omaha, NE. 3 hours away from Des Moines. 3 hours away from Kansas City. 6 hours from Mall of America, 9 or so hours away from Denver or Chicago. 25 hours away (with the time change) from Tampa.

We are pretty far from anything too significant. However, there are many lakes and decent camping areas (if that is your thing) that are less than 3 hours away.

It would take me hours to list everything there is within 5 or so hours of New York City. So many other amazing cities, small towns, beaches, lakes, ski resorts, mountains, etc. I love the Northeast.

From DC: NYC, Williamsburg VA, Virginia Beach...

Rehoboth and Bethany Beaches in Delaware are a short drive away from DC as well... I quite like them.

Its not by chance that I drive to, or through Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park about every 8 to 10 weeks.

And from Beaverton. Your "Rose City" is Portland, right?
