Okay after looking up the Temps for Dallas. THey are high between May and September and it would be hot for the Athletes. but not that bad Atlanta is almost pretty much like that.
Atlanta is more humid than Dallas in the summertime, but Dallas has higher average temperatures.
The Post I made about Boston was only my opinion, of how I felt how the IOC chooses cities. and NO I dont think that being a "Intellectual Center for America" is a culture. Sorry, thats not really a culture for me.
What would you consider to be culture then? Crunk cups?

When were they ever in a city similar to Boston? They're going to Rio in 2016, London in 2012, went to Beijing in 2008, Athens in 2004, and Sydney in 2000. The closest city to Boston in that group is London (in style)...I wouldn't say they're that close.

The heat in Dallas is not THAT bad. We're not talking sub-tropical temperatures. The Olympics have been in places just as hot as Dallas before. I would think Rio and Honolulu would be worse than Dallas.
As for scenery, there actually is a lot cool stuff in Dallas/Fort Worth..

I remember going to a Ranger's game several years back. Randy Johnson was pitching against Nolan Ryan. When I got to the park at about 730, the sun was already setting. The temperature was 99 degrees. NO BREEZE. Sweltering hot. I was miserable the entire game roasting my ass off. The game ended after 10pm. Sun had been down for almost 3 hours. It had cooled way down to 97 degrees. I sprinted to my car to turn on the AC
For normal human beings, I'd say that's hot alright.

Exactly my point. Dallas is on average, 96 degrees in July and August.
Beijing's average July Temperature is about 78 degrees.
I guess The Galleria could count as "scenery" in Dallas for some...
Minneapolis - St. Paul are exploring a bid for the 2020 Summer Olympics. MPLS. - STPL. has finished second in the bidding process twice; to Helsinki in 1956 and to Atlanta in 1996. The area had also bid in 1932, 1948, and 1956. TCF Stadium, which was designed to seat 80,000 people, will serve as the Olympic Stadium in Minneapolis's bid for the 2020 Summer Olympics. That is, unless the Vikings have their stadium built by then, which would be only 1.25 miles from TCF Stadium.
There are now seven stadiums / arenas within a 3 mile span; Target Field, Target Center, Metrodome, Williams Arena, Mariucci Arena, Ridder Arena, and TCF Bank Stadium. The Twin Cities also has the largest world's largest amateur sports facilities in the world in Blaine (National Sports Center), which could be updated for the Olympics.
I still struggle with the question of whether or not the Olympics are worth hosting.

The problem with Dallas is Dallas. Why on earth would anyone want to go to a summer event in that oppressive heat?
After the atlanta fiasco, I don't think the IOC would consider another "Bubbalympics"
Boston, San Francisco, Denver, Seattle, NY and LA are American cities that enjoy some stature on the world stage. Honolulu sounds very intriguing.
