The website does not do the magazine any justice. This magazine is top notch. If you want to talk about blacks that travel, this is the magazine to read.
"Despite its obviously self-promotional flavor, BlackAtlas recognizes both the growing sophistication of black travelers with online tools, and the economic power of African-Americans with travel on their minds. The University of Georgia's Selig Center for Economic Growth estimates that total black American buying power is expected to top $1 trillion by 2012. With that kind of clout found in a bloc of increasingly affluent black households, this portal's likely to have company before long."
Excerpt:
"Black travelers often have travel experiences that are very different from other travelers, and there just aren't many travel guides that focus
on the needs of Black international travelers."
Blacks don't travel very much for a variety of reasons:
1) Blacks, by and large, don't care for nature or natural settings. Many, perhaps a majority, refer to such settings as "boring" or "Country".
2) Lower-expendable income for travel.
3) Blacks prefer to be around their own kind, and are highly racialist, so they have little desire to travel and be surrounded by a bunch of non-black people.
I don't even know what to say to this, this ignorance isn't worthy of a response. I really love how people like to place every race/ethnicity/gender/etc. into one group, everyone is very different in my eyes.
Y'all are saying because I'm black I haven't been on a plane??? I just want to stay in a gritty urban environment (I don't even live in an urban environment), like I don't appreciate beautiful scenery. That whole Blacks only stick with Blacks thing sounds so idiotic, I've had friends of many different races. I'm actually mixed so that whole dumb idea is a very dumb idea.

You and I both know, that ONLY whites do exciting travel. Blacks are to poor and ONLY want to go to places by Greyhound bus and generally don't want to be around people other than blacks.
Akhenaton06, don't get me wrong. I don't judge people by color of their skin. I just often hear that U.S.A. is the land of diversity - true, but segragated (with few exceptions). And what I meant with "they don't want to get in contact with white people." is that they look annoyed when someone white is talking to them.
I honestly don't have a clue what you're talking about here.
I love how people are pointing out how blacks love to self-segregate themselves, but its tons of threads on here about whites wanting to movie into areas with a low black percentage.
It works both ways. Whites self segregate themselves from the blacks just as the blacks segregate themselves from the whites.
I'm guessing no one has seen the movie "Soul Plane"
Over 70% of this country is white, and 13% is black, how many black people do you expect to see on a plane? I'm sure if your flying from Newark to Atlanta the black population would be more abundant, but no matter what, most the people on the plane are not always visiting/living in the actual city of where the airport is located.... So you never know what the outcome will be in terms of demographics.
