You could use polls or surveys. I know of polls of nations to determine the percentage of favorable/unfavorable views of Muslims, but I've not heard of this done for US cities.

Judging from Pew Research Center from 2007 positive views of Muslims, among non-Muslim Americans, are a majority among: Mainline Protestants, religiously unaffiliated, college graduates, those under 30, and liberal Democrats. Catholics, Independents, Moderate to conservative Democrats, and those 30-49 also came out more favorable than average.

So possibly from that one could speculate that a well-educated city of youthful non-Republicans or non-Evangelicals would be accepting of Muslims.
