The people I know in Arkansas are way more blunt than the people I know up North. If anything it's up here that people act like they're your friend and then betray you.

I grant that the kind of South you describe exists, but it's not the one I lived in. A good deal of the South is lower-class and highly blunt, it's not all cucumber sandwiches and sweet tea.

You want to experience some really rude and obnoxious people? Try Kansas City or any location near it. I've seen more lying, thieving, backstabbing and slovenly behavior in this area than any other that I've lived. Two faced people exist everywhere but I've seen more in the KC area than any other.

Makes me wonder what kind of "south" u talkin bout chick. Im from texas and i travel to arkansas a lot, i go to the sticks of the woods. Ppl smile kindly at you and help you out a lot. Cant find that in nj now can you? Nope. All u can find there is gangsters with no education and thieves and ppl with rude attitudes. Yes there are rude ppl in this world. But complainin about it dont help. And ppl do have bad days ya know. The south has a lot of hospitality. Cant say nj does. Been there. And i aint gon back.

That's not really mean though. I don't know most people just consider it nicer not to say things to your face. Also southerners are generally less confrontational. Of course it would be nicer not to say anything to anyone. And well having a conversation in line is nice. Honestly the in your face types always rub me the wrong way, you don't have to lie but you don't have to rude or ugly for the sake of being honest.

You are saying people from the South are mean, yet you get mad when strangers have conversations with each other. Doesn't make much sense to me.
